"What can give you hope in a place where there is no hope? Where people are deprived of their rights because they have crossed national borders in search of a better life. Marty Rosenbluth, human rights lawyer, fights with gentleness and passionate commitment for people in immigration detention. With their precise observation, the filmmakers succeed in creating a magnificent narrative. Different plots are artfully linked together and the perspectives are changed. Respectfully and unobtrusively, the filmmakers give their protagonists space in a captivating visual language. The film feels like the place - idyllic and lost. Kathrin Seward and Ole Elfenkaemper have created a film out of this overwhelming topic that empowers and inspires." – Gesa Rautenberg Award Ceremony 2024
It is such a wonderful film, and you two approach it with humility and beauty. My students said that the day you were here was among the best of their entire experience in high school--not just this year, but all 4 years of high school. - Lew Procacci, English High School Teacher, Hellgate High School Missoula, MT
Longing. Hope and hopelessness. Keep up. Separation with no prospect of meeting again. The film shows all of this impressively. -Article in Filmkultur Schleswig Holstein
