Otto, a 17 year-old punk becomes involved in the social services investigation of his
girlfriend's Laura death. He is caught in a vicious circle created by his parents, his mute
grandpa and Laura's mother. Laura is still part of his life through the video recordings
that the boy edits constantly, trying to make sense of the events. Throughout this
process, Otto must take his part of responsibility for what happened.

About the filmmakers
            

Ruxandra Ghitescu is a Romanian writer/director. She is a graduate student of the Media Art School, in Karlsruhe, Germany. Ruxandra started to work in the industry in 2006 making her way up from video assist operator to script and continuity, working in present as a director as a scriptwriter. Over the past years, her short films have been selected in international film festivals like Sofia, Cottbus, Cork, Helsinki, Transylvania IFF a.o. Ruxandra was selected as participant for Transylvania Talents 2014, Sarajevo Talents 2014 and Berlinale Talents 2015. She co-wrote two feature films ” Hawaii” (Dir. Jesus del Cerro) that premiered in 2017 in Romania and “Clara” (Dir. Sabin Dorohoi) financed by Romanian CNC in 2018, now in preproduction. She is now in post production with her debut feature “Otto the Barbarian” (Alien Film) (Media Development Grand 2016, Eurimage 2019) which was part of Berlinale Script Station 2016, Cinelink Sarajevo 2016 – winner of the Macedonian Film Institute Prize and part of L’Atelier Selection, Cannes 2017.
