About the filmmaker
Mark is an award-winning writer and director with over 15 years of experience in the television industry.
Comfortable with a variety of genres, Mark has written, produced and directed a wide variety of TV programmes, corporate films and web content.
Mark studied to be a journalist but was soon distracted by his filmmaking friends in University. So he took on another major, literary and film theory. After getting intrigued by Citizen Kane, Blade Runner and Thelma and Louise and falling in love with the French New Wave and Film Noir, Mark woke up one morning and decided he wanted to make movies, or at least try a career in television. Soon he had the opportunity to produce documentaries, a medium which Mark truly enjoys. Mark lives for telling stories that excite, intrigue and inspire.
His accolades include 3 New York Festivals awards, 1 Asian Television Award and 1 AIDB World Television Award, all of which were television documentaries produced for Channel NewsAsia.
