Across two gripping episodes, Forgotten brings to life the untold realities of
Indonesia’s marginalized communities. Through immersive storytelling and
powerful visuals, the documentary captures the resilience of those fighting
to be seen, highlighting the injustices and hardships they endure.

Episode 1

Despite being known for its beauty and mystical powers, Bali
hides a very crucial issue for its people. Thousands of villagers
in East Bali have to settle with toxic water to fulfil their daily
needs. This is impacting the young generation’s growth and
the health of the Balinese in general. The urban settlements of
the island also have a similar problem: rivers are polluted.
Here, people rely on rivers to live, and if their water is dirty, the
consequences on the health of the villagers can be
catastrophic. But there is hope, a group of driven individuals is
working on providing cleaner and safer water for the Balinese
people.

Episode 2

The vast development and population growth created a major
issue for Jakarta: a lack of space. Land is now mainly seen as
a commodity to be bought and sold in the market. The result is
that land is now equated with money, rather than an essential
need of every human being and society to flourish.
